He has been working in the media since 1995. He started his journalist career as a field reporter, working for Radio Contact (subsequently acquired by Kiss FM, part of SBS media group), and as a correspondent for several national publications.
He then became news editor in chief at Radio Contact Cluj and a maker of radio and TV talk shows (for Radio Contact and ProTV Cluj). He spent one year with the Swiss publishing group Ringier, and between 2000 and 2004 he structured and led the local newspaper network of MediaPRO Group.
Later on, Dragos Stanca became the General Manager of PubliMedia, in charge of managing all the print and online publishing operations of MediaPRO, the partner group in Romania with CME and, later on, Time Warner.
In January 2007, he took over the management of the print and online publishing division of the new Realitatea-Catavencu Group, being actively involved in the integration of the publishing group Catavencu into the operations of Realitatea Media and thus contributing to the establishment of the leading group in providing quality content in Romania.
One year later, he laid the foundations of the Group’s business media division (which includes the only business television station in Romania, The Money Channel, the daily newspaper Business Standard and the weekly publication Money Express).
Since October 2008, Dragos Stanca has dedicated himself exclusively to the management of the new media operations of Realitatea-Catavencu Group, launching the online consultancy and investment project F5.


In 2009, he set up F5 – the company which provides all new media strategy, content management and development services for the Realitatea-Catavencu Group and not only, along with the interactive and cross-media sales unit F5 X-Media.
He has a bachelor’s degree in economic sciences, and is a graduate of the eMBA Leaders programme organised by the Scandinavian International Management Institute (SIMI), in cooperation with IFRA and World Association of Newspapers (WAN).
He is also member of IAB Romania and BRAT Managing Council (Romanian Bureau for the Audit of Print Press Circulation), the organization that presents accurately the circulation, as well as measuring both the audience of print press (through SNA) and the online audience of Romanian websites (through SATI).
