Istanbul -12.10.12 Webit Congress (www.WebitExpo.com), the only global event for the new and emerging digital markets was held on 10-11 October, 2012 in Istanbul Convention & Exhibition Centre Lütfi Kırdar, Turkey.
The seven parallel Conference streams (over 100 hours of Congress Agenda in 2 days, delivered by 180 speakers) focused on important topics such as mobile, telco, entrepreneurship, technology, application development, social media, e-marketing, advertising and eCommerce.
The Digital Marketing and Innovation Conference was among the highlights of the congress
One of the most outstanding conferences was The Digital Marketing and Innovation Conference, which hosted some of the world’s most recognized digital experts. On its first day, the conference opened its doors with Social Media, Mobile, and Digital Creativity Streams and on the second day, Marketing & Advertising, Video, Innovation and Gamification Streams were held.
Focusing on the importance of digital marketing, the Director of Product Marketing at Yandex, Andrey Sebrant, stated that “In our digital age, marketing becomes governed, ruled by numbers and it becomes classical natural science”. “If you don’t rely on numbers in your marketing, you are not competitive”, he added.
Underlining the rapid growth of the digital market, Aseem Chandra, Vice President Digital Marketing at Adobe Systems, stated that “You have one third of a second to create a digital experience”. “Digital language is everywhere” he added.
Diego Oliva, Regional Director for Southern, Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa at Facebook, emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship: “Be bold and mighty forces will come to your aid, do embrace them, lead your countries and impress the world”, he said. Oliva also stated that “Only 47 % of people trust traditional media. However, 92% trust what they hear from their friends and family”.
During the 2 days, great minds and leaders of the most significant online businesses revealed the secret lying behind their success and engaged the audience through a series of panel discussions.
